David E Gamble, Non Executive Director

David is well known and highly regarded in the risk management and insurance industries. He is currently principal of the UK risk management association AIRMIC Academy.

David took on the role of chief executive of Airmic in January 1998, a position that he held for nine and a half years, during which time his many achievements included the development of the academy and the on line multilingual risk management training course which is delivered over two years. He personally wrote the course (45,000 words) and through this and his personal contacts gained a unique insight into the concerns of risk managers and how to meet their information and service needs.

For 25 years prior to this he lived in Japan holding board positions in several quoted companies in the paper and engineering sectors, giving him a valuable insight into the issues faced by large organisations, not least those being experienced culturally as well as commercially following the recent earthquake and tsunami.
